Allentown School District (ASD) Homeless Youth Initiative

ASD’s Homeless Children and Youth Initiative’s first priority is to identify students experiencing homelessness, and then develop and implement strategies to address barriers impeding enrollment, attendance and participation in educational activities. Each year, Allentown School District connects with over 430 children and youth classified as homeless. The reasons for homelessness include immigration, poverty, early pregnancy, rental evictions, changes in employment and domestic violence. These family developments may play a role in leaving an innocent child without a place to call home.

Members have the option to contribute the item of the month by placing it in our donation bin at either location, and they can also make monetary donations in our designated donation box.

Items of the month for January
