Celebrating 90 Years of Growth and Service Excellence!
We are delighted to share the news that Lehigh Valley Educators Credit Union (LVECU) is commemorating an incredible milestone—90 years of dedicated service to our members! Since our founding on January 12, 1934, as Allentown Teachers Credit Union, we have developed into a thriving financial institution with a membership exceeding 15,000 and assets totaling around $400 million. Beginning as a volunteer operation in the home of Edwin Clauss, an early contributor, we have experienced significant growth, a testament to the trust and support of our members.
In celebration of this milestone, we are embarking on a journey to revitalize our appearance and enhance your banking experience. LVECU recognizes the importance of adapting to the evolving needs of our members. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your ongoing trust and loyalty. Stay tuned for these transformative updates, and here's to the next 90 years of growth, prosperity, and unwavering commitment to our community!
Cops ‘n’ Kids
Cops 'n' Kids focuses on fostering a connection between children and the community through literacy. For numerous years, both LVECU and our members have been actively gathering and contributing books.
How can I donate?
Bring your new or gently used book(s) to either one of our offices; we are always taking donations.
Allentown School District (ASD) Homeless Youth Initiative
ASD’s Homeless Children and Youth Initiative’s first priority is to identify students experiencing homelessness, and then develop and implement strategies to address barriers impeding enrollment, attendance and participation in educational activities. Each year, Allentown School District connects with over 430 children and youth classified as homeless. The reasons for homelessness include immigration, poverty, early pregnancy, rental evictions, changes in employment and domestic violence. These family developments may play a role in leaving an innocent child without a place to call home.
Members have the option to contribute the item of the month by placing it in our donation bin at either location, and they can also make monetary donations in our designated donation box.
