Allentown School District (ASD) Homeless Youth Initiative 

The ASD Homeless Youth Initiative aims to identify students experiencing homelessness and implement strategies to remove barriers to enrollment, attendance, and participation in school activities.

Members can support by:

  • Donating items of the Month in our donation bin at both locations.

  • Making monetary donations in our designated donation box at both locations.

Items of the Month Donation Schedule

  • January & July – Hair Care
    Hairbrushes, hair ties, combs, barrettes, etc.

  • February – Dental Care
    Toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, floss, etc.

  • March & June – First Aid Supplies
    Band-Aids, first aid kits, antibiotic cream, bug spray, etc.

  • April – Baby Care
    Wipes, diapers, baby powder, baby shampoo, etc.

  • May & October – Toiletries
    Lotion, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, powder, etc.

  • August & September – School Supplies
    Pencils, pens, binders, notebooks, crayons, etc.

  • November & December – Winter Gear
    Hats, gloves, scarves, coats, etc.

 

Cops ‘n’ Kids

Cops 'n' Kids is a non-profit organization that focuses on fostering a connection between children and the community through literacy. LVECU is pleased to continue its longstanding support of this effort and commends its members for their generous donations of books over the years.

Bring your new or gently used book(s) to either one of our offices. We are always accepting donations.

 

Toys for Tots

Since 1947, the Toys for Tots Foundation has been dedicated to bringing joy to less fortunate children during the holiday season by distributing toys. Each year, LVECU proudly serves as a drop-off location for new toy donations. In addition to collecting donations from our members, we also contribute by purchasing toys to fill our donation boxes. We are honored to support this meaningful cause and contribute to spreading holiday cheer.
